Torre del Oro (Gold Tower)
is located on the riverbank of
the Guadalquivir. It was used as a prison during the middle ages
and later as an enclosure for gold and precious metals retrieved from
the Americas. Today, it is a naval museum and its collection
includes engravings, letters, models, instruments, and historic
documents of Seville's naval history and the importance of the
Guadalquivir river.
